Ways to offer your support
hospice charity shops
St. Raphael's Hospice has eleven charity shops. Our shops rely almost totally on donated goods and are open six days a week from 9.30am - 4.30pm Monday to Saturday.
Since opening our first shop in 1989, the shops have raised a net profit of some £3 million to help with the running costs of the Hospice.
Our shops sell a wide range of merchandise, clothing, books, bric-a-brac, videos, LP's, cd's, homeware and small items of furniture.
We also now sell small items of furniture from the front window of our Retail Warehouse located at 198 Cheam Common Road, Worcester Park, Surrey KT4 8QJ. But as that is not open all the time, it's best to ring 020 8330 4501 if you see something you like!
We operate a collection service from our retail office. These will be sorted, recycled and distributed to our nine shops. We also accept and re-sell small electrical items, after having had them tested.
The shops net financial contribution for the last financial year as £330,000 including the Shops Gift Aid scheme for donated goods which raised an extra £72,000 for the hospice through gift aid. This came from some 5,000 shops gift aid donors – thank you to all of them.
We have now installed credit card facilities into all of our shops. The minimum spend is £10 via credit card, and it has proved popular with customers.
We have a happy team of managers working in our shops alongside a large group of committed volunteers, without whom, we would not survive. Thank you to all of them, and of course to all our customers.
